I am in the process of organizing and chaperoning a boys team & a girls team consisting of players from St. Thomas & St. Croix to participate in an off island tournament. For the fourth time, the U.S.V.I. will take part in the AAU Super Showcase Championship that takes place in Orlando, Florida at the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex. For the lm time, the girls will attend the 17&Under Super Showcase Championship on July 8-11, 2011. The boys will attend the 17&Under Super Showcase Championship on July 21-25, 2011. In hopes of making this an annual event, we are trying to raise $25,000 per teem for airfare, notch accommodations, ground transportation, & AAU fees based on last year's totals. Any monetary donations will help defray the cost, as we continue to raise funds for our travels, Our yoangura Will il/IYC nn opportunity to showcase their talents in the presence of mainland high school and college coaches. If coaches show interest in them, they may have a chance to further their education in schools in the U.S. Also, the U.S.V.I. team will be seen by more than 5,000 spectators and fans that attend the tournament. I would like to promote the U.S.V.I. in a positive way. The deadline for registration is May 26, 2011. A quick and timely response will be appreciated.
