The woman I sent to, Susan Shopmaker. is one on the best kid casting directors in New York. She does tons of tv, movies, commercials, etc. and she cast the little girl in Enchanted. The idea was... would study and practice the scene I sent her, go in for a session with Susan for coaching. and then come back to read on tape having gotten feedback so that she could do well. Also, if that read went well I asked Susan to give shots at anything else she was casting. I thought that was the best way to get a solid read out of her and impress the 20th casting dept in Los Angeles for all there other shows. I'm sure Susan was just trying to impress upon her that its hard, VERY competitive, and requires lots of study and dedication. All the other girls are so prepared that I often refer to them as 'little monsters' because they eat the room alive, its crazy. Please let me know if she wants another chance to go on tape and I can either tell Susan to keep her mouth shut, send her to somebody else, of can tape her and send it to me. I'm truly sorry it wasn't a better experience for her! I will reach out to=via email today, and call her on Monday.
