In addition to the fairly low-tech eyeglasses and eyecare project, I'm working with a small new venture to make the first really powerful and tunable terahertz laser. That's the underexplored spectrum between microwave and far infrared. When this gadget works, it'll be like Roentgen et al. discovering the first applications of x-rays.
