To: " mail.comfjeevacation©gmail.comi: undisclosed-recipients:MN From: Sent Wed 2/1/2012 1:29:54 PM Subject Notes on quaint town called London Hi everybody! TUBE is such funny word to say so I try to incorporate it in my daily language as much as possible. So when a recruiter asked where I'm staying I said: "the Bayswater tube station". She was on the floor laughing. This is a country where you can see school kids in the TUBE wearing uniforms. Then again, I guess it's no more laughable than a hairy Arab working out in the gym wearing a dishdasha or abaya. Nevertheless, I am enjoying my stay here in countryside London. The men are hot even when they're not. Just the fact that they're Westerners makes them hot. The dry cleaning is so bad in Abu Dhabi that I get it done in London while here. So when I dropped it off in the hotel reception I asked what time it would be ready. The answer was: "half-nine". The only reasonable response I could think of was: "What's half-nine?" The guy squirmed trying to keep his laughter inside: "9:30." I will not be incorporating this in my daily language as I'm actually still not sure whether "half-nine means 8:30 or 9:30. Also, is 'am' or 'pm' implied in this complex wording? London has all these great, quaint cafes. Nothing like the greasy, foul-smelling restaurants with questionable Indian / Arabic hygiene standards in the UAE. I'm all filled up on great food and pastries from an Italian cafe. When a recruiter enthusiastically told me she had a job working for the Jordanian royal family in London she thought I would jump from joy over the chance to work for royalty. Instead my shoulders sank: "...but I'm trying to get away from those people..." What my trips has taught me is that the UAE IS ONE OF THE MOST DISGUSTING PLACES ON EARTH. If you remember nothing else from my reports, please remember that. I wish you all a fantastic 2012! EFTA_R1_00528396 EFTA02022242
