After leaving the FBI, Freeh founded Freeh Group International Solutions, a global consulting firm. He appears in at least 12 documents in the DOJ Epstein files and is documented as having flown with Epstein 19 times according to defense filings. Freeh was hired by Alan Dershowitz to conduct an independent investigation to clear Dershowitz of sexual misconduct allegations made by Virginia Giuffre. In this capacity, Freeh filed FOIA requests with the Secret Service seeking records of Bill Clinton traveling to Little St.
James Island. He was listed as an expert witness in Giuffre v. Maxwell regarding whether Clinton visited Epstein's island. Court proceedings reference attempts to depose Freeh that were blocked by sealed orders. Despite his extensive documentation in the Epstein files and his direct involvement in investigations surrounding the case, Freeh has not been accused of criminal conduct in connection with Epstein.
His role is primarily that of an investigator and legal advisor retained by Epstein's associates.
