Douglas Schoettle

Douglas A. Schoettle is a New York-based architect who worked on Jeffrey Epstein's residences over many years. New York magazine's 2007 Epstein profile "The Fantasist" reported that when Palm Beach police served their October 2005 search warrant, it happened "under the noses of New York decorator Mark Zeff and architect Douglas Schoettle, who were there planning a renovation," as investigators seized photographs and other items. An April 2026 Raw Story investigation reported that a contractor who toured Epstein's Manhattan townhouse in 2003 was asked to issue his mold-assessment report to Schoettle, whom an FBI tactical intelligence report described as a close associate of Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell — the FBI report's characterization, as quoted by Raw Story. In the released files, Schoettle emailed Epstein directly on May 19, 2009 ("Hello Jeffrey, I am forwarding to you flooring sample images"), consistent with continued renovation work on the East 71st Street townhouse; he appears in Epstein's contacts as "Schoettle, Douglas A, 243 Riverside" and in Epstein's address book, and an NCIC check record on him appears in the investigative files. Corporate records list him as an officer of 243 Riverside Drive Corporation, matching his contact-book address.
