It does have the ability to receive the display from an iPhone/iPad/Mac via AirPlay, but it does not have anyway to connect a camera or microphone to send audio/video to the other side. If you used Facetime/Skype/Google Hangouts on an iPad, you could send the display (what you see) to the D tv, but the sound & picture that the other side get would be from the iPad's camera & microphone only. Here is an Apple Forums discussion that outlines the same: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5210010 It is certainly possible that Apple is considering adding Video/Audio inputs to the Etv for a future version, but they've made no announcements so far and I've not seen any supply chain rumors implying anything similar in imminent. The logitech systems I've found all require a computer to do the actual conference (via EFTA_R1_00047529 EFTA01750265 Skype/Google Hangouts, etc).
