That seems to fly in the =ace of net neutrality though. I'm not sure I'm fully in the net-ne=tral camp, but having

OTOH I could see the need for a QoS guaranteed high latency low bandwi=th network (with origin) to enable the loT
sector to build really intercon=ected real time products, without really threatening net neutrality.

On the other hand, I wonder if this is a variant of=trumpism, we need to make the internet great again. At what
point was it g=eat before? When their were but a select few who were able to access it; a=d everybody on it knew they
would be meddled with a bit. Once it went too =ainstream no-longer was being a hacker (or even, user) of such systems
an =t-your-own-risk endeavor, but was something that people depended on.
=div style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;font-size:small;color:=gb(0,0,0)">
Similar modern endeavors include Urbit, l=nked for posterity ht=ps://urbit.org <https://urbit.org> , which is
mostly made incomprehensible for the point of=keeping out the un-enlightened. Urbit is supposed to re-imagine
computing =s fundamentally distributed.

I thin= it would require very close consideration to figure out why a new interne= is actually needed.
Traditionally in CS we think of a distributed system =s striving to achieve Consistency, Availability, and Partition
Tolerance (=ee Brewer's theorem, https://=ww.infoq.com/articles/cap-twelve-years-later-how-the-rules-have-changed
<https://www.infoq.com/articles/ca=-twelve-years-later-how-the-rules-have-changed>
I think that thinking in terms of these desirable=properties in terms of mutually exclusive groups is probably a
useful way =o consider the design space. Another well known one is Zooko's triangl=:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zooko%27s_triangle.
In any case, I've gone on a slight tangen=. My point is it's one thing to say you want a new internet because of=a
theoretical (or not so theoretical) button, it's another to have mot=ve enough to actually build such a new network.
Asides from the button, wh=t properties seem critical to you?
