I wou=d not be surprised if either misquoted bits from the email or even headli=es like "threatening email from us financier..." You are right to be angry. She is confused, scared, and I would assume probably with few options=left. You've sent what we in medicine tend to call a "warning shot" and l=suspect the message came through loud and clear.
