It was good talking to you the other night, albeit I didn't expect Faith to call on the way to her birthday dinner :-). Check to The Mount Sinai Hospital in the memo section "2/3/11 wine benefit" and mailed to me at wanted to also let you know that your generosity in making it possible for me to attend the CGI in 06 has had very long legs and saved many lives. As a result of that meeting, Mount Sinai committed to bring a group of doctors to operate on patients for 2 weeks the following January. The group leaves again on 1/1 for it's 5th annual trip. they've saved hundreds of lives. Also. the person who funded the first two years is a good friend of WJC and called 2 days after the Haiti earthquake to say he was loaning his plane to bring Paul Farmer and some dots at WJC's request and did we have a few doctors and any supplies we'd like to send. Our Director of Critical Care is Haitian American, jumped at the chance and went. 2 days later Paul Farmer asked me if Mount Sinai would send 5 fully self supported surgical teams and set up the national hospital. We did . were first responders and stayed 2 weeks left a million dollars in equipment and supplies and again saved MANY lives and limbs. ALL as a tentacle from that first CGI meeting.
