To: jeevacation mail.com[[email protected]] From: Sent: Sat 5/7/2011 7:57:07 PM Stuart Rosenfeldt settles with money from IRS South Florida Business Journal - by Paul Brinkmann Date: Thursday, May 5, 2011, 1:43pm EDT Stuart Rosenfeldt • Paul Brinkmann Report • Email: /7\ z This is a real shocker: Ponzi schemer Scott Rothstein's former law partner, Stuart Rosenfeldt, is owed a refund of $3.97 million by the IRS for reasons no one is explaining. Rosenfeldt has agreed to settle a $10 million lawsuit against him for the relatively small sum of $1.6 million, which will come entirely from the bizarre tax refund he is apparently due. Those facts were disclosed Thursday in a settlement agreement filed in the bankruptcy of Rothstein and Rosenfeldt's former law firm, Rothstein Rosenfeldt Adler. EFTA_R1_00272605 EFTA01868330 The bankruptcy trustee had alleged in a lawsuit that Rosenfeldt was overpaid, and received loans and gifts with money from Rothstein's $1.2 billion Ponzi scheme. Rosenfeldt's attorney, Bruce Lehr, said the settlement was made with no admission of guilt by Rosenfeldt, who is still a practicing attomey. Chuck Lichtman, the attorney for the trustee, said he could not elaborate much on the settlement, but said Rosenfeldt was apparently due the money from the IRS because he had somehow overpaid taxes during his career at RRA.
