Boeing update: The fwd airstairs are working normal at this time. -Morrison believes the APU issue is Speed Switch for starter disengage, or ECU (Eletronic Contol Unit) for apu,.we have a spare ECU Morrison thinks, I will replace Thursday. (The APU is starting, however the Starter is not dis engaging after the APU reaches 35%,.that is why we aborted the APU start After landing last night. Once you shut aircraft engines down, the Apu lit normally last night, and it worked 4 times today for me. After landing in JFK from London friday night, I addressed several items: -Nose strut was flat, needed servicing. -Radar was inop, needed to replace RTU unit, which required removing the Nose radom from the Boeing. (Mars avionics plus JfK mechanic) accomplished this item. -replaced Nose Taxi light -replaced R/H Nav light -performed base "A " check, which took 3/4 of a day, which requires servicing all oils and Hydraulics,. -changed #2 engine fuel valve. -used jfk Mechanic and his high lift truck to attempt to load the Large chair you wanted on lsj,.this was attempted Thursday night when we fueled and preflighted the boeing. There is only one part time Boeing 727 mechanic who is employed by American Airlines who did all this work for us, he knows the B727 very well. he didn't have time to address the fwd airstair issue, I didn't want you to think I was lacking attention regarding the fwd airstair item, I was focusing on saftey of flight items first.
