Hezbollah Condemns Ban's Bias Only Arms Can Guarantee Lebanon's Strength The Lebanese resistance group Hezbollah issued a statement Friday in response to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon's report on the implementation of Security Council Resolution 1559. The statement said the arms which Ban called for scrapping represent 'the honored weapon that liberated most Lebanese territories unconditionally. It is the guarantee for Lebanon's strength that protects them, their territories, wealth and future,' reported Beirut daily As-Safir. Hezbollah said it was only surprised by the palpable fingerprints of Ban's "Zionist' aides Terje-Roed Larsen and Jeffrey Fettman who drafted the report based on their knowledge of Lebanese politics, and their adoption of the "March 14" speech. 'What is strange though is that the top UN official was not provoked by and did not pay attention to Israel's aerial violations of Lebanon's sovereignty that mounted to 20,000, but he was alarmed and provoked by only one surveillance drone sent by the Islamic resistance to the occupied southern Palestine. This uncovers the mentality that rules the United Nations: Hezbollah said. The report added that Ban's swift call for the disarmament of Hezbollah is an obvious attempt to jump to conclusions without tackling the causes. "Had his organization assumed its full responsibilities, the situation in Palestine, Lebanon and other places in the world wouldn't have deteriorated that much," the statement said. The resistance group went on to say that it has become clear the UN adopts the domination of the Zionist entity over the entire region, and foils any attempt by any party, be it resistance or government, to defend nations and human beings. The statement sarcastically concluded by saying that the 'achievements" of the UN in occupied Palestine represent an example to what will happen to nations, which consider the international organization as their protector or guardian.
