Is the website still free?
Yes. The website, search, and all public pages are completely free and ad-free. Paid plans are only for programmatic API access at higher volumes.
What happens when I hit my rate limit?
You'll receive a 429 response with Retry-After and X-RateLimit-Reset headers. Your access resumes when the rate limit window resets (hourly). You can upgrade anytime for higher limits.
Can I try before I subscribe?
Yes. The free tier gives you 100 requests per hour across all 27 endpoints. That's enough to evaluate the API and build a prototype. No API key required for the free tier.
What's included in enhanced exports?
Enhanced exports add OCR text snippets, document cross-references, connection details with evidence, email metadata, and financial entity data on top of the standard fields (names, dates, categories). Available with Researcher tier and above, or as a one-time purchase below.
Do you offer press/journalist discounts?
Verified journalists and newsrooms can get one-time enhanced data exports for free — contact us with your press credentials. Live API access (the subscription plans above) is available at standard pricing for all users.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel your subscription anytime from the dashboard. You'll keep access until the end of your billing period. No cancellation fees.
What payment methods do you accept?
All major credit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay via Stripe. For institutional plans, we also offer invoice billing.
