To: jeevacation@g mail.comueevaca tion@g mail.com]; jeevacation mail.com '[email protected]] From: Sent: Sa Subject: very cool science. Thinking through what opportunities we might be able to pursue as special initiatives (here at foundation) Can't be science related to computers, neuro, aging or chronic disease But Atmospheric Dynamics...(here's a decent primer from the UW!): htto://www.atmos.washinciton.edufacademic/almosdyn.html Affects everything we do. There are a ton of smart people in this field, working for pretty cheap but I bet some cool ideas/breakthroughs might be possible? The world of "climate change" is a donor and philanthropy space. I don't want to be there (mitigation etc). I want to be in the science space. I don't want to do climate change and I want to do this quietly. Special Initiative for Atmospheric Dynamics. I think this could be cool. Physics, super big, high impact and other than govt/airlines not a ton of others in the space. I have some other ideas that I want to talk about related to cities. Too much to type but big picture, what do you think about above idea? I'd love to sneak in a neurosci initiative but since Paul Allen (nemesis!) is in that space, it's a little tougher.
