mostly I believe it is impossible to be a new 6th operating system—you have to compete with windows, mac osx,
Linux, android, iOS and maybe even google chrome.
it is really hard to imagine how you create something to compete with all of these big, hard, fast moving projects.
they are all going in different directions so it isn't like adding a 4th car company in 1965.
I would side with any of those before I sided with making something from scratch.
