Good Evening Mr. Epstein, Yes
After my review of the proposed library chiller and air handler replacement unit specifications , I
requested a more detailed engineering explanation from the HVAC design engineer. I have asked
them to provide me the control system sequence of operation for the unit, the new
dehumidification cycle to control the humidity in the room, it's design intent, and also how they
plan to address the air distribution problems in the room. As I discussed with Bryce I want to
assure you that the new unit that they are going to provide is going to be able to accomplish
keeping the temperature and humidity within acceptable ranges. I have heard of your frustration
with the existing Trane air handler and chiller unit and want to avoid having the same design
issues with the new unit. This needs to be engineered properly before going to the new system
replacement .Brice is currently looking into a temporary back up unit for the existing chiller that
may be on LSJ and used to keep the existing system running in case of system failure. I will
make sure we get the contractor to provide you the proper system design . Richard
