Subject: Rooms for TED
Rooms, especially suites for TED, are difficult if not impossible for near the TED Conf. being
held at the Westin.
I called the Westin (which
says everyone thought was the best hotel last year) I am told
they are fully committed. I asked that someone in their "Group Sales Dept" please call me re a
suite or a room for TED...the only way you can book a room there is through the TED website
(which is now closed because TED is sold out)
The Marriott Renaissance Long Beach had only Standard Rooms available. I went ahead and
booked 2 Standard rooms for you because I am concerned we will get nothing if I don't take
action. I requested them to be connecting. I spoke to the sales manager there and she said due to
TED they have no suites. Your rooms are booked from Feb. 27-March 2.

Last year you stayed at the Long Beach Hyatt. We were able to get this room through Pritzker's
office. The Long Beach Hyatt has no suites and and no rooms available if you are just a regular
person wishing to book a room. If you are registered for TED you can book a room through the
TED website, but we are not registered so i cannot get in to try to book you a room. The
reservationist could not tell if any rooms are available through TED. WOULD YOU LIKE ME
TO CALL PRITZKER;s OFFICE and see if THEY CAN GET YOU A SUITE?
