Hi Lyn...I am positive you can get yourself a phone for while you are in the
Philippines-but I think it would be best to do once you get there-I'm sure they
have stores around that sell something you can have for a month...
I looked on the internet and see lots of options, but I know when people travel
here to the states they go and get a temprorary phone or sim card for their own
phone from an ATT, Sprint, Verizon (etc) store...
