For example, I think I'll be able to quickly follow up on his exome with a whole genome this summer. Basically, once I get through the first pass and our lab is fully set up, adding additional datasets will go much easier. In my opinion, there's no harm (in these early days) with individuals having more than 1 genomic dataset and analyses. Unfortunately, Jeffrey is in the second run which should be completed by end of this month. (Because his was part of a batch of about 20 that needed DNA re-extracted from saliva and resequenced.) On the positive side, the number of medically important genes we will deeply analyze has doubled since he submitted his sample based on the most recent literature.
