More low key than hamptons. And you can drive there. Or train I think?! When do you want to go? I know nothing about LI other than Hamptons. And I did like the Hamptons when I used to go. I would suggest south Hampton as it is the largest of all the Hamptons with more to do and its more central so you can Uber to other towns. Sag Harbour is cool too.
