Bulgaria? or whichever strange place in South African% On a more practical level, I wonder if you will happen to be in New York on 17September when a film on my old friend Nicholas Winton who saved 647 Czechoslovakian children from the Nazi murderers is being premiered in New York and in which I featured. Could you please give me the coordonnIt%es of your friend the new mayor of New York, who interviewed me once, as I would like Michael(?) Blomberg (?) to receive an invitation to attend this premiere. Nicholas Winton is an amazing gentleman now 96 and going strong!! But it iS very likely that it is the last time he will ever go to New York, It would, I think be fitting, if he were to be interviewed on one of New York's television networks. Thanks to him not only were the 647 children saved from certain death but all their descendants now in their thousands owe their lives to him! He was a successful stockbroker who temporarily abandon his career to save these children, the plight of whom he discovered whilst he was skiing in Czechoslovakia. He is cultured and well spoken and will have his children and grandchildren around him. Please darling, help me to give to this extraordinary man a decent welcome in your city and also from the Jewish community in New York. He does deserve this final accolade. I am seeing the cardiologist this coming Tuesday and will be accompanied by Jean Marie Polu who is as you know Professor of Cardiology in Nancy and an international lecturer and professor on the subject, so I could not be in better hands. I will know then when I will be going into hospital for 3 days to try and force my heart into a proper beat again! I am longing to have that over as at the moment I am under no treatment except anticoagulant and feel as weak as a fly at the slightest exertion. On Tuesday morning I will be going to Villeneuve to order my new spectacles as I now saw an ophthalmologist and have a new prescription, at last.
