Darling I'm sure you will be pleased to know that I managed to CLINCH THE DEAL WITH MACMILLAN FOR THE PUBLISHING OF A SERIES OF 5 VOLUMES ON THE DREYFUS AFFAIR (see attachments). I know that you know how difficult it is to get any publisher to agree to publish anything, never mind 5 volumes on such a long past historical event which was not either British or American and of little topical interest (which is not true of course but so it would appear to most people). This will assure me a retainer fee of 5500 a month from George Whyte to begin with, if he keeps to his word which I have no reason to believe that he won't. But I feel quite proud of myself and it is a great reward for hours and hours of work on the matter in question.
