This will involve short presentations and extended discussions by experts from disciplines ranging from neuroscience and evolutionary biology, to psychiatry and artificial intelligence. Here was the initial invite list.. it has changed since this one was sent out but it gives you an idea of the breadth of participants.... some of these people can't come, some other names added.. We are going to have an Origins workshop on Origins of Mental Pattern Processing: Lessons from the Brain with an interesting group of neuroscientists, and machine intelligence types.. followed by a great debate on Creativity to Madness: Mental Processing in Human and Machine Brains. If you two would like to come up for the weekend and sit in and enjoy the resort and spend some down time with me, I would really enjoy that, and we would cover all the expenses... if the timing works out. We could even give you an honorarium if you wanted to spend more than a few days here relaxing and writing. Anyway the event is March 11-13.. It seems to be coming along well.. it comes in at around 20,000 words.. anyway, am convinced it could be the basis of an interesting volume, supplemented by an intro, afterword, and maybe one or two other things..
