My understanding is that the gross purchase price =s $30 million with a $2 million commission to EFTA_R1_01327132 EFTA02350093 Gagosian and $28 million net to Jeffrey. Gagosian says their lawyers are =egotiating with the buyer's lawyers and that things are moving =t a glacial pace, but they think the deal will go through. The buyer wants to =nspect the sculpture out of its crate before finalizing the purchase, =ut has agreed to put the purchase price in escrow prior to the =nspection. I recommend having Chantal Quirot (the conservator who =reviously oversaw the uncrating of the work and the re-crating at the Giacometti =oundation) oversee the uncrating of the work. Unless you or =effrey disagree, I will arrange for her to be present at the uncrating =and will let you know the date it is scheduled for as soon as I know). She will probably charge around 1,000 Euros (or maybe =ess) for this and I think that would be money well spent by =effrey. It is always good to have your own conservator directing =he uncrating of a delicate object like this. I asked Leon again yesterday for any =dvice/recommendations he has on the Braque, and he told me to put it on =old for now. If Jeffrey is ready to have it shipped somewhere, =lease just let me know. As you know, the Braque is still at Gagosian NY. I'm back in =he office if you'd like to discuss any of this.
