Subject:
Stolen identity tonight
A N.J. Transit Supervisior Ed Smith
called me at home at 6:30p= to ask if I lost two pairs of new shoes
(Charles Phillips) in shoe bags i= an outer unmarked bag on a train today.
I had no idea what he was talking about. In the bag was two pages of a pr=nt out of ALL my personal credit info and
pass words. Social security, etc= That's how he called me at home. Ed asked if her should throw out the p=int out. I said
no, put it inside the shoe bag with the draw sting.
He said it looked like someone had stolen my personal identity. I called c=tibank and put a hold on my credit card. There
were no odd charges.
Ed said he gave the bag, which he put my name on the outside, to a conducto= who brought it to Penn Station- 7th Ave
Concourse- NJ Transit Lost and Fo=nd/Customer Services windows adjacent to tix. windows.
The bag would be put in a drop box tonight and I could go claim it tomorrow=after 9:00am.
I ran off the the Memorial Sloane Kettering Spring Ball at the Met Museum a=d put a hold on my Citibank card.
Do I call the police in the morning before I get the bag. There will be fi=ger prints on the bags and shoes other than the
train conductors.
Do I get the bag with gloves and then call the police. If all my personal =nfo is on a print out, maybe we can tell what
computer it is from.
This is beyond weird. It this a set up. Was "Ed Smith" just confirming my=info by calling?
Is he in on a scam? Do I change every bit of I.D. info?.
Feels creepy already. I will be up early Thurs. A.M. Please advise.
Peggy
