To Mike re: UC Intercampus Symposium Oct 1-3
Thank you for asking me to review the PNAS paper on differ=nt DA-receptor genotypes and emotional responses to
music, Gaz....next day=got an invite to give a Ted Talk...been a happy week!...hope to follow up =oon on Ann's request to
visit/eval David Premack - she sent a lovely l=tter recently...
1. Did any experimental work you deem =f high quality come out of your Dana Music/Brain Devt/Education grant
prog=am?
2. Might you be willing to give a Keynote=at the Symposium called: "Human Brain Organization" (remember yo=r
Science paper circa1989?) on Thurs evening Oct 1 in Schoenberg Concert H=ll? (seats 450 which we think we can fill) -
plan would be for Chancellor =lock and/or and/or Alpert Dean Neuman Geffen Dean/CEO Mazziotta to give a =5-30
minute welcome before you take the stage and before UCLA Music Chair/=onductor Neil Stulberg and students perform
2-4 compositions designed to e=oke different emotions in the audience. (I am planning to collect autonomi= (and
inventory) data from audience members during that concert.) We can h=ve a table with your and other faculty books
there too.
3. On a personal side note - Cadence and I would like to invit= you and Charlotte to join Rebecca and a bunch of family
and friends at my="29th Birthday Jam-and-Whiffle-Ball Party" this Sat 1-lip 4/18.<=div>
Yours,
Mark
