Hi Jeffrey and M,
This is interesting. Se= below.

Dear Mr. Epstein--
<=ont face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif'>
My name is Dan Parisi, and I am senior as=ociate director of foundation relations for the Alzheimer's
Associatio=. I read with great interest about your support for cutting edge science a=ound the world. I would like to
inquire respectfully as to whether you wou=d be interested in supporting any of the neuroscience projects being
advan=ed by the Alzheimer's Association.
In p=rticular I believe that you may be interested in the Global Alzheimer's Association <=sup>Interactive
Network (GAAIN <http://www.gaain.org/> ), a project in which the Association and its partners =re seeking to transform
how huge quantities of digital neuroscience data are shared and accessed worldwide. For the first time, an= scientist
working to discover a cure for Alzheimer's will be able to acce=s via the Internet a federated, cloud-based grid-network
of large and complex neuroscience data—including high-resolution, time-varying, multidimension=l data sets of the
brain—made available by the world's foremost researche=s from their own laboratories. The Alzheimer's Association
has launched=GAAIN only recently in partnership with the Laboratory of Neuro Imaging (LONI
<http://www.loni.ucla.edu/> ) at UCLA, the National Center for Alzheimer's Diseas= Research and Care at the Istituto di
Ricovero e Cura a Carattere Scientifico (IRCCS), Fatebenefratel=i Hospital, Italy, and Intel Corporation.
As y=u likely know, no comparable network exists today. GAAIN holds tremendous =otential not only for the
advancement of Alzheimer's science but the a=vancement of all neuroscience. Its start-up costs are approximately $10
mi=lion over five years.
=span style="text-align:justify">
May I ask you please to let me know if you are intereste= in learning more about GAAIN or other projects at the
Alzheimer's A=sociation? I would be glad to speak with you or to send you a detailed des=ription via email. Thank you
for your consideration and for all of your ph=lanthropic work.
Dan
