I have been reflecting further on the transition pla=.
Frankly, the simplest and easiest transition is the =ne we talked about months ago. You would remain as President and
get=someone to serve as Chair, which would be a figurehead position. We could easily name Rubin or Levy to fill this
position for the remainder of yo=r term. Walter should be Chief Executive Officer with full and complete operating
authority. =n this way you would be free from office/financial decisions and could spe=d your time doing what you want
to do for outreach and fundraising. = have full confidence in Walter. He would do the job in an excellent and efficient
manner.
The 1O is essential to our operations as it gives th= Vienna office many tax benefits and access to EU financing.
I, personally, prefer th=s transition plan. This is the easiest way to proceed and poses no pr=blems that I can see. The
apartment should be sold in any event as t=e need is not sufficient to maintain the costs.
I hope you will reflect on it this week and next whe= you are on holiday, and we can make a firm decision before the end
of Mar=h as to which way we are heading. I want a clean, appropriate, and 1=gal transition to present to the Board at
our May/June meeting.
