To: 'eevacation mail.com[[email protected]] From: Sent: Sat 6/12/2010 4:36:38 PM Subject: G2 update Jeffrey, I went this morning to brief the Avionics Manager at GD, Joe Higgins about our autopilot I seat belt ordinance chime. Joe is very knowledgeable in G2 avionics, He is busy with another aircraft that needs to be released today around 3pm, he will start our plane at that time or sooner. I have contracted Simuflite for assitance also, see emails below: I will keep you posted for further updates thanks Larry From: Steve White Sent: Fri 6/11/2010 2:14 PM To: Norm Thompson Subject: RE: Inverter Concerns I am teaching in France and have no Gulfstream schematics. The logic appears good but the E inverter needs to be used by itself if possible to check for a possible bus problem. The relay that feeds the Instrument Bus from the Main Bus also has a second separate sense relay that might be intorrmittant. Our simplified schematic does not show this second sense relay. Also depending an ASC status, there is a third relay involved depending on the brand of E inverter. I think it is ASC 20. This third relay helps keep the E Inverter on line using the one particular brand of E inverter. This third relay may only work when the E inverter is selected on. not in normal operation. This is the best I can do from memory. If you just reply to me, I will forward to client. Thanks in advance. V/r Norm Thompson Gulfstream Instructor Info from client: Hi Norm, nice to hear from you,,,, Serial number 151 GIIB N909JE this is what I have so far, the Facts: -Instrument inverter bus light is flickering during flight -seat belt chimes for no reason during flight, (is this DC powered or AC) what BUS powers seat belt chime? EFTA_R1_01467802 EFTA02408179 -auto pilot kicks off randomly, even when light does not flicker on INST INV BUS,„ -normal system operation is "A" inverter (2500va) powers, "Main Inverter BUS", and Main inverter "bus" powers Instrument Inverter BUS with a back up of small E inverter (only 500va), -there is one relay that I see in the schematic that controls switch ology for the MAIN INVERTER BUS to the INSTRUMENT INVERTER BUS, since its the INST INV BUS is flashing now, I think the culprit is the "INSTRUMENT BUS CONTROL RELAY" this is the only relay that comes between Main inverter bus power and the Instrument INV BUS, " A" inverter is powering the MAIN bus, plus powers INST INV BUS, with a back up power for INST INV BUS is "E" inverter, the only thing to cause this instrument bus to flash would be an A inverter problem, but that would cause the MAIN INVERTER BUS to flicker also, I'm only getting the INSTRUMENT BUS light flickering, so I think its the INSTRUMENT BUS CONTROL RELAY this time. thanks, Larry EFTA_R1_01467803 EFTA02408180
