Please put tape up forest green paper (and/or rich chocolate brown) all over hallway and around paintings of tapestries covering the lavender. Please consider doing shiny lacquered walls for brilliance and shine. Felt might absorb too much light. This is a much cheaper solution before you start tearing down the walls and creating a major construction sight before your Yum Yum dinners. Also dark hallway walls will be a great contrast to white dining room walls but paper tetnplet will show you. 02. I love the idea of small dinners. (But not too small because house is too big.) Think about Rosh-a-shaven or Yum Yum Kipper. Think about getting top political, military minds to speak. You put a list together and I will too. You need to tell hot Jews soon before their relatives make them come to their tables. so timing is important. It will be easier to get to smart goyum on those nights because no one plans major social events. (Actually will check with Mona Ackerman (she lives with Richard Cohen from Washington Post) and see if she does anything...) Perelman does do family/friends but his lists have gotten very random...ie. Loraine Bracco and Penny Marshall. You might have to personally call the guests and then send the "to remind" card and email. Your personal touch is important on the first few. #3. I am going to the Venice Film Festival arriving Sept. I and coming home Sept. 6th. I have an assignment from Avenue and press credentials. Julian Schnabel, Darren Aronofslcy, Sofia Coppola and Julia Taymor are some of the directors showing their films. I have my plane ticket. I have not made plans to stay anyplace yet. Can I get some prices on hotels and would you consider helping me out? It's only five nights. If not, I can ask Luisa Beccaria if I can use her cousin's apartment away from all the action. This will be my fifth trip to Europe this summer and aside from Cannes I have been the most successful "Yacht Slut". #4. I will work on Yum Yum dinner lists today...and get to you by the end of day or Monday. I have no idea what the reaction will be to your re-entry into society, but take is slow and stay quiet.
