No matter what you've been hearing, 3D is going to be more and more important in the long term and there are currently no 4K 3D projectors out yet.... Once you see 3D in a residential environment it's hard to go back to the theater. If you want to go 4K, my personal favorite is the JVC, which is priced close to the Meridian. I would wait though. The 4K technology is still too young, and although 4K scaling from &u-Ray is pretty good, it's not the same as native. Don't forget, there's 5-6 times more resolution in 4K vs. BD.
