The former are one - two day drive, the latter a flight (from 3 - 7 hours depending). I'm afraid there's nothing nearer to Addis. In terms of a day trip then, it'll be difficult to see anything in that length of time. travel aside, you still have to get to a field site from the main town so that's more journeying. I think you'd need three days minimum to actually get to a health post and see some activities." If you were still interested in visiting something I would have to get in touch with the Country Director soon - who may decided this is not practical (due to staff resource, work plans etc).
