To: From: Sent: Subject: S76 radar smoking!! ail.com[[email protected]] Sat 4/24/2010 4:32:47 PM Jeffrey, yesterday I was updating the data bases in the S76, when I started to smell smoke and discovered the radar display was failed! I am trouble shooting the wiring at this time with our Sikorsky Tech rep at this time. There is many inputs into the radar since it is a MFD (Multi Function Display) such as Weather radar. TCAS. Lighting sensor and Navigation info from the FMS (Flight Management System). We believe it could be one of these sources feeding the radar display causing it to fail or smoke internally. however after pulling all the Circuit Breakers to all the outside sources that are fed into the radar, it continues to smoke, making us believe that it is internal failure in the radar display unit, 3rd time changing this unit. A new Radar MFD is scheduled to arrive Tuesday, We are now ringing our the wires to make sure there isn't a short to the radar display. more info around 2pm thanks, Larry v EFTA_R1_01494747 EFTA02426167
