NYU AD fought off The Human Rights Watch and we did it with a first page article in the National stating how great we will treat our contractors. NYU Abu Dhabi has really set a new precedence to improve conditions for contractors. Admissions has banned me from the Hospitality room during Candidate Weekend since I order too much room-service! Regardless, they don't really want me around kids anyway... Last time I told one of the students that at least this time around we didn't lose any students... There was dead silence. A colleague called me and made the fatal mistake of informing me that I was on speaker. I knew he was with at least 3 other people so I shouted into the receiver: SO I CANT TALK DIRTY??? He very quickly picked up the phone and said with shaky voice: Well, you're not really supposed to anyway... Just another day in higher education...
