Oh I can get exact amount when I get home but round numbers
Foundation is 185K plus benefits of health, 401K (matches 2 to 1 and I put in max). Which ones should I
care about?
Doctoring is about 40K or 10k per 2 week block of 24/7 attending. No benefits since I am covered by
foundation. This year I did 6 slots so I made 60K (so maybe 245K for 2009 total).
For the Financial Times I write one column per month, about (700 to 1000 based on word count) 1K
each. No benefits, just paid per article.
For various textbooks and articles I make about 2500 per year although I generally don't ever see it. So I
don't count that. No benefits or other with those.
Mi
nd I have 2 properties. The one we live in and one we bought which is a one acre piece of land in
that we though we might build on later. House
a roperty is crap. I put in all my savings at each
purchase, one 5 years ago and one 3 years ago but
pretty much paid for them. House is 3.5m and
land is 800K at last valuation.
I used to be able to save more till my family lined up (recent). I also did more consulting
which paid well. Foundation does not allow.
Yes you are right - 20K per year for my living is about right
too. We live pretty simple lives. For
foundation, I travel 4 months per year and so all of that is paid for. My travel budget last year (for me and
my team) was about 525K since it involves security teams, fuel, etc. Alone for me, maybe 125k.
