The setup is pretty straight forward and it configured itself for most installed applications on my MacBook. The trial version will run for 3 hours and flags different outgoing connections as they are taking place. For instance, anytime my Mac checks the time from apple.com a little message window is displayed momentarily notifying me. With the trial version, the application will shut itself down after 3 hours. The purchased version will not do this. Costs to purchase a single license is $30 and $110 for 5 machines. if you have some time today, and if this still sounds reasonable, perhaps we can coordinate installing this on JEE's Macs.
