NYU-AD I love my job at New York University Abu Dhabi! I loved being at Stem so to be at NYU in Abu Dhabi is a fantastic combo! I'm back to running around in NYU's white & purple logo. I love working in Operations (HR, Campus Services, Security & Transport, Events, Property Development, and Facilities) and boss people around! My colleagues are a group of very genuine and nice people. Mostly Americans. I went to a party at the American Embassy with my single colleagues and this reminded me of how much Americans actually can drink... It also reminded me of what a process it is to get in to a an American Embassy: There was only one non-English speaking security guard who had to do all the screening: check ID's against the gucstlist which I wasn't even on, but I still got in which kind of makes me wonder about American security..., run the bags through the x-ray machine, let people through the metal-detector, go through the purses and confiscate all phones with a camera. The Abu Dhabi Government is NYU-AD's money-heavy shareholder and we thankfully have no financial ties to NYU in New York. Our shareholder is very generous... I really lucked out with my apt which happens to be 5 min walking from our new campus! My social life in Abu Dhabi is much better than it ever was in Dubai and I've only lived hcrc for 3 weeks! People are more serious and genuine here. DRIVERS' LICENSE Driving and parking is way worse in Abu Dhabi than in Dubai. It feels as if you need a special driver's license to know how to drive extra crazy here! People will park so they block other cars. If your car has been blocked you ►ook at the car's dashboard, and there should be a mobile number for the owner of the car. The owner will then come and move the car. Then that car owner probably need to call the next car who's blocking him... Either you get your car out by the mobile number method or you drive an SUV and just drive over the other cars.
