To: Jeffrey epstein[jeevacation©gmail.com] From: roger schank Sent: Fri 10/23/2009 2:22:18 PM Subject: on another subject entirely since we are the topic of money, below is what I really worry about; I just sent this to the president of the barcelona university I work for; this is not shipping and it is not shipping futures - it is what I care about; if you should ever meet anyone who actually cares about education and making money at the same time, this is the kind of stuff I would (and do) say; if you are in the mood for criticizing me, this would be the spot; this stuff matters to me roger I realize you are consumed with a range of issues, but an opportunity has arisen that you should think about; It does not involve Socratic Arts in any way; I am writing to you about this simply because this would be good for La Salle you may recall that we built a number of programs for CMU West; the main one was Software Engineering (SE); we talked about it when we first met; the CMU customers for that program were mostly aerospace companies like Boeing and Lockheed CMU West went in a different direction after I and others left and Boeing was not happy; now the faculty member from CMU who led SE (Lynn Carter, now at CMU in Qatar) and the VP at Boeing who was in charge of SE have joined together and want to build a new SE masters degree program that they believe will make a great deal of money; they would like to do this with me and I said that meant doing it with La Salle, so they are ready to begin talks if you are they have written a financial plan and an explanation of their plans, which I can forward to you the summary is this: they need 340K euros for one year and they will have the first year ready to go and be able to accept students; they do not need very much help because they were part of building our earlier master's programs and have operated them for years; they will need 500K the next year and be break even in year 3; in year 4 they project a profit of 1 million after payback of initial investment and profits of 2 million euros in the subsequent years this should turn out to be a real money maker; unlike MBAs there is next to no competition; this is about bringing programming capability to the world and very much in line with your goals shall I send the further details (spreadsheets and words that they have prepared that explain who they are and who will be where and who will do what -- it involves training Indians to be mentors etc))?
