We are still waiting for responses from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Washington Legal Foundation. All of the other potential candidates have declined. Some have invited us to contact them if an appeal occurs. I'm still poking around as well. At a minimum, the NACDL (the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers) should be willing to submit an amicus brief. I've been coordinating with Marty Weinberg regarding the NACDL. Going to Main Justice now, even in the quietest way, may not be well-received. But I understand your point and the potential (or at least theoretical) value of an approach.
