Respectfully, Daphne Forwarded message From: John P. Woods, AIA < Date: Wed, Apr 22, 2015 at 2:03 PM Subject: R=O. & Generator Bldg. Revisions To: Daphne Wallace < <mailto », ann rodriquez < Daphne, 4>=A0 > > Attached are the revised drawings for =he R.O. & Generator Building Roofing project. These changes are based =pon comments from Mr. Epstein at a recent site visit on Friday, April 17, =015. In summary, the changes requested are as follows: 1. =C2* The longer building (R.O. Bldg.) will be expand=d to a width of 60 feet. There will be roll up doors on both of the short =nds. The two long sides will have no openings. The exterior sheathing shal= be a typical metal siding provided by the steel building manufacturer. Th= eave height of the building shall be reduced to 12 feet to minimize the h=ight of the structure. This will also result in the roll up door height be=ng reduced to 10 feet. 2. 4>=A0 The shorter building (Generator Bldg.) will have e=terior sheathing that is the typical metal siding provided by the steel bu=lding manufacturer. The height will be increased to 20 feet to accommodate=a roll up door 16 feet in height. This is the minimum height established b= the LSJ maintenance staff to accommodate the roll on roll off activities =f the dumpsters. qu> EFTA_R1_01631419 EFTA02502891 I would like to add some observations regard=ng the change in heights of the two buildings. For one, it doesn't=make sense to minimize the height of one building while the other must be = full 8 feet higher. The Generator building now looks out of proportion wi=h that extra height. What may be more appropriate in my opinion is to cons=der not roofing where the dumpsters will be located and extend the parapet=wall up another 3 — 4 feet to be almost 9 feet above the roof slab= This will do a lot to visually screen the dumpsters. You should also cons=der replacing the dumpsters with enclosed units that have compactors incor=orated into them. Some of these type of dumpsters are presently being used=in very visible sites on St. Thomas, particularly at WICO. Finally, = have also included the revised floor plan for the Maintenance & Works=op Building, eliminating the Break Room.
