Since we've =et her, as a single mother she's raised two kins, one of which, her 17 =r old daughter Karen Roa, is also a track star who is a senior majoring =n science at Umass. Karen is on her way to SantaFe for the summer to =rain for the US track team and Anna found out about SFI and is all over =e to get her daughter over there to spend time and absorb the culture. They don't have a program and I doubt Karen has the chops to make the =rade in any kind of academic ranking, but what I care about are people =ike myself who, by accident (or force or will), escaped their parents =orld and discovered the life of the mind.
