I have been spending a lot of time making nice with everyone and craft=ng an exit strategy for all of the work. It spans 12 to 18 months and clos=s out 5 different portfolios. You advised me to give this 100 percent=and to build a strong and credible exit in the same way I did the entrance=so I did. And am trying. I hired a risk management team from Wharton =o help assess internal and external risk, built a financial transition, an= am now shaping the communications strategy for foundation exit across the=various efforts. The leadership team has been sending me nice notes about =y terrific attitude and ability to move forward with hard instructions. Th=y want me to consider other internal leadership roles once I close this to=m down. Not sure that is the best plan. On our last call I tried to suggest the business world, more philanthr=py (not my favorite), or some other cool thing. We could think of the 'som= other thing' but agreed to keep talking about it. Meanwhile, I have been =n in discussions to ramp up my neurosurgery time which will probaby be a m=stake. Since taking on something like a chief of service role has a lot of=cache and sounds relaly neat but ends up to be a lot of administration and=not a lot more OR time. But it is a credible job and something I know how =o do. I think I have forgotten how to dream. Honestly, I just am tired of be=ng beat up. Bill was supposed to meet with me later this month but had to change t= may be August given his schedule and upcoming family vacation so there is=not much from him. I know Boris is trying to schedule a meeting but not su=e it would help anything or what i could possibly ask for or discuss. Havent heard about the Gabon stuff but it sounds fun! Am having surgery on my left breast in about 10 days and need to stay =ut for a bit after that. In Germany right now, giving a talk.
