I agree with your observation that a military death is no less valuable than a civilian one. You also seemed to have a fatalistic view about conflict in the Gulf. When you put these two views alongside each other, I worry that one might conclude that we should accept civilian casualties in parts of the world where we seem to accept military casualties.
