They have created a computatio=al model, Forager, that mines their proprietary data from the world's plants and human biology, discovering natural compound= that solve unmet human problems. In a nutshell, they are able to fi=d these compounds, then licence them for manufacture to then be incorporat=d into everyday foods to enhance people's health, naturally. As you can imagine, they have had a lot of inbound from t=e major US and European food companies that are always up against regulato=s and politicians demanding that their foods are healthier/ not so full of=sugar/ have more nutrients etc etc. Their model has currently identified one indication, and they are looking =o raise a Series A in Q3 '19 (if not before — they have ha= some pre-emptive inbound) of around $15-20m1n to enable them to explore a=second indication. For me, what they are doing is super interesting, although I found the team a bit flat and not particu=arly inspiring. That may be to do with the fact that they are curren=ly heavily scientist-centric, and will remain so for a while, but still di=n't really pick up the energy of a team creating an entirely new market.
