In summary, you paid 30mm plus tax for the two works of art yet the estimates received from Sothebys and Christies only total 19mm - 22mm. This will generate a non-deductible personal loss of between 7-10 million dollars . Heather told me that there may be an additional import tax on the Giacometti bringing the potential loss to 10-12mm.
