When we think about evolutionary competition, it is always about what =ives and what dies. On the level of cells within
an organism, deadly =ompetition is probably rare. In brain cells, the death of a cell means =hat information is lost. I
imagine that some of the losses of brain =atter that happens due to stress is doing that on purpose. But the =ulling of
cells mostly happens during very early learning and brain =evelopment.
Later on, the competition must mostly happen on the software level, i.e. =n the organizational structure of the brain, not
on the level of =eurons.
