From: Mohamed Waheed Hassan • i> Sent: Saturday, April 28, 2012 3:21 PM To: Jeffrey Epstein Subject: Thank you Jeffrey, You will see my note to Ian. Thank you for the excellent support provided. R=ry Gill provided much needed advice to deal with international press. We ar= still struggling with demands being made by a Commonwealth ministerial com=ittee CMAG. Some foreign ministers from Canada, Australia and some developi=g countries decided that they suspected illegal transfer of power and to pl=ce us on the CMAG agenda, meaning we were going to be scrutinized and sanct=oned if we don't listen to them. This is a very strange colonial type set u= and we have asked for clarification because we don't think our situation m=ets the conditions for such an action. We have not received a reply to my I=tter. Former president Nasheed is supported by David Cameron's government and we a=e finding it difficult to convince them to be more even handed. Thank you for your continued help. I am looking forward to your visit to the Maldives. Sultan has been talking a=out possibility of some investments here. The situation is stable now with f=w demonstrations now and then. We are learning to manage the situation bett=r now. The situation here is quite normal. Parliament overwhelmingly voted i= favor of my proposal for vice president and the 14 member cabinet of minis=ers. If all goes well, I could think of running in the next election a year from n=w. Once again thank you and best regards.
