The Bruce and M=rsha Moskowitz foundation is supporting this foundation which we set up. We=also support an initiative of healthy cooking for children and families. We=are a public foundation a 501 c3. The Cancer N=trition Consortium is a public Foundation (501c3) composed of 8 research ac=demic centers including Mayo Clinic, Johns Hopkins, Dana Farber, NYU, Cedar=Sinai, the Culinary institute of America and the Biomedical Research and Ed=cation Foundation. Together we have a scientific group developing new=products to license to industry to improve the lives of patients undergoing=treatment for cancer. The products are based on the two year research study=of 1200 patients. Our first two products include an American ginseng that d=amatically reduces fatigue during chemotherapy. Also based on the survey we=developed a "clean ensure" that removes the soy and all artificial ingredie=ts and comes as a powder. We have a study that is showing preference in hea= and neck patients and women undergoing radical surgery for ovarian cancer.=We also developed a frizzed dried small lozenge that dissolves in the mouth=and delivers probiotics that previously relied on a large capsule that coul= not be used in patients with swallowing problems or in pediatrics. 4=pan> This is the only model where m=dical center translational scientists are working with Culinary Institute o= America food and flavor scientists, nutritionists and industry to develop n=w nutritional products. Out of the initial research in cancer we now have b=en asked by other specialties in the same academic centers to work with gas=roenterology, geriatrics and endocrinology to develop products using the sa=e team approach.
