From: To: Subject: Call notes w/ re cellmate policy Date: Sun, 11 Aug 2019 16:30:59 +0000 According to Lt. who spoke with Lt. transferred the call to the warden asked if he was required to have a cellmate: o Discretionary matter; o Epstein was supposed to have a cellmate at all time per the warden. o When his cellmate was released, Epstein was in the attorney visiting area. o As a general practice, prior to the shift, the officers are briefed. The people in the SHU were supposed to be briefed down that Epstein was supposed to have a cellmate at all time. Officers have the authority to move cellmates. Captain was supposed to brief the Lt. who is supposed to brief down to the officers. Don't yet know whether the captain briefed the officers. We asked for follow-up materials relating the cellmate policy and whether this direction was committed to writing.
